We have our doubts here…
This morning, we got a shocker. According to DNA, Yash Raj Films has been deliberately trying to underplay Sultan‘s enormous collection because according to their agreement with Salman Khan, if the film touches the 300 crore mark, they would have to pay a major chunk of money to the actor. It also came to light when Salman fans started trending a hashtag, #YRFStopReducingSULTANFigures. Now we wonder if this is true, would the actor do another film with the production house.
According to the report, when Sultan was offered to Salman by Aditya Chopra, the actor made it perfectly clear that he wants the 80-20 profit share that Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan got for Dhoom 3 and Fan respectively. So more the collection, more money has to be paid to Salman which apparently the production house isn’t interested in. In fact, a source told the daily that something similar happened during Ek Tha Tiger when YRF stopped at 196 cr despite trade claiming that the film has crossed 200 crore.
We are pretty sure the actor too must be aware of all this dodgy mathematics and that makes us wonder if Salman would work with YRF again. And that would be a big loss for both the parties because everytime they came together, it has spelt wonders at the box office.
It also makes us wonder if this is one of the reasons why Salman Khan preferred Race 3over Dhoom 4 as his next because he was apparently approached for both. We were the first ones to tell you what is the status of the various films he is supposedly doing andRace 3 is the only film that the actor is considering. We tried to get in touch with YRF’s spokesperson, but got no reply from their end.
