Salman Khan-starrer Sultan completes its 50 days of release at the box office and is still running in theaters across the country. The current figures clearly declare the immense success of the film. And if it is not enough, its overall domestic profits till date are over Rs 300.45 cr, as the Indian box office collections sums it all. The film, which also stars Anushka Sharma, emerged as the highest-grossing film in the history for India’s leading movie production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF) which has been in operations for over four decades.
A new poster has been released by the producers to mark Sultan’s 50 days run at the theaters. It is certainly is a matter of celebration for Salman’s fans. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial, which released on July 7, has so far crossed Rs 580 crore worldwide. According to a statement from the YRF banner, Sultan is now the third highest-grossing movie in the history of Indian cinema. The sports drama film features Salman and Anushka as wrestlers. In the opening weekend itself, it had crossed the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide.

Taran lately tweeted and compared the films released this year and the number of days the films took to join the Rs 100 cr club. Sultan acquired the first position as it did so in just three days while Akshay Kumar’s latest release Rustom took nine days. Akshay’s other two films, Airlift and Housefull 3 did so in 10 days and 13 days respectively.
Not to forget, Salman Khan is also in the recent released Forbes’ list of highest paid actors in the world and stands at number 14 with an earning of $28.5 million.
YRF is known for giving Hindi movie buffs a bouquet of romantic and action films since its inception. It was founded by late Yash Chopra, an iconic filmmaker whose credentials as a director include Bollywood classics like Chandni, Lamhe, Silsila, Kabhi Kabhie, Dil To Pagal Hai. His last directorial was Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
The present head honcho of the banner is his son Aditya Chopra, who has helmed movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. His next movie is Befikre, starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor.
