Ileana D'Cruz made her dream debut in Anurag Basu's Barfi! with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Later on, she was seen in Phata Poster Nikla Hero, Main Tera Hero and Happy Ending, which totals to just four Hindi movies. When asked about this, she says, "I was 18 when I started acting and hated it. It was a chore and I did it only for the money. My family needed me to act and the films coming my way from the South were huge."
However, she adds that as she has grown up, she has changed as a person and has realised that she has a certain responsibility towards her art, and that she now enjoys it rather than considering it like just another work.
She adds, "I wish I was doing five films a year but I'd rather do a handful that meet the audience's expectations than do a bunch I'll eventually regret."
Ileana, who will be next seen in Rustom opposite Akshay Kumar and Esha Gupta further promises that 2017 will be a good year for herself and her fans as she has two movies lined up.
