Nepal Khabar: At least eight persons were killed in separate incidents of landslide in Pyuthan district in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to DSP Ranjit Rathore, Chief at the District Police Office, Pyuthan, five members of a single family were killed when a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall buried a house in Neta of Rajbara-3.
The deceased have been identified as Durga Bahadur Malla of Neta Rajbira VDC-3, his wife Sita Malla, daughters Sushila Malla, Srijana Malla and Rekha Malla.
Meanwhile, a landslide triggered by torrential rainfall buried a house in Banglibang of Puja VDC-3, killing three members of a single family, DSP Rathore said.
Police said that Home Bahadur Sunar (70), his wife and grand daughter were killed in the landslide.
The incident site is 50 km drive from the district headquarters.
Locals are living in constant fear following the incident, said Chief District Officer (CDO) Janak Raj Pant.
